Senior🎓
Top SchoolRian Rainey is a Staff Software Engineer with 11 years of experience building and scaling web products for startups and mid-size businesses, now based in Columbus, Ohio. He blends hands-on engineering in Ruby/Rails and Elixir/Phoenix with product-minded delivery from his founder experience at Built Well, where he paired no-code/AI automations with custom code to boost profitability for underdog businesses. Rian has led and grown teams at companies like CoverMyMeds—helping scale a product from zero to $80M+—and later guided engineering and hiring efforts at BetterUp and Test Double. He’s comfortable across the full stack (HTML/CSS/JS to backend services) and prefers pragmatic solutions that validate customer needs quickly. Avidly curious about entrepreneurship and new products, he favors teaching clients to remove technical barriers so they can focus on growth. Colleagues describe him as a technical coach who pairs delivery velocity with long-term maintainability.
