Summary
🤩
RockstarRicardo Gaspar is a Lead DataOps and Data Platform Engineer with nine years of experience building high-performance data pipelines and platforms across Hadoop, AWS EMR, and cloud data lakes. Rooted in a SysAdmin background and early IT technician roles, he brings an end-to-end operational perspective that helps him optimize Spark/Scala workloads, observability, and reliability. He has driven data platform efforts at Cloudflare and multiple startups, advising teams on performance tuning, ETL design, and DevOps automation. As a founder of a consultancy, he pairs hands-on engineering with strategic guidance to help organisations get more value from data. Ricardo’s uncommon blend of HPC/distributed-systems curiosity and practical systems engineering means he often surfaces infrastructural improvements that reduce operational pain and cost. Based in Lisbon, he enjoys tackling challenging performance problems and mentoring teams to build scalable, maintainable data systems.
