Senior🎓
Top SchoolRicardo Kirkner is a Staff Engineer based in Uruguay with 20 years of experience building cloud infrastructure and developer platforms that help people understand, connect, and explore. He has led and scaled online services and cloud engineering teams at Upsun (formerly Platform.sh) and Canonical, and earlier delivered high-performance distributed systems and UIs as a contractor for Google, Yahoo!, DreamWorks, and EA. Ricardo combines systems-level rigor—rooted in a MSc in Computer Science—with a curiosity about language, learning, and emergent meaning that informs how he designs resilient, user-focused platforms. He’s comfortable across the stack, from networking and SSO at a university scale to architecting SIP/VoIP and large-scale cloud platforms. Colleagues describe him as driven by shaping things that matter and tackling problems that make him feel genuinely alive. A subtle throughline in his career is translating complex, multilingual and distributed requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
