Top SchoolRicardo Mateus is a Principal Researcher and analytics consultant with over a decade of experience translating descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics into actionable decisions for governments, multinational firms, and research institutions. He has delivered 200+ consultancy projects across procurement, supply chain, energy, health, and sustainability, combining operations research, multicriteria decision analysis, and data science to solve complex policy and resource-allocation problems. A practiced modeler and developer, he works across optimization, simulation, causal inference and machine learning using a broad toolset from Python, R and C++ to GAMS, CPLEX and AnyLogic. He also teaches industrial engineering and contributes to applied research projects (e.g., POLICYMIX, MOTIVE), bridging academic rigor with pragmatic public-sector impact. Less obvious: his background spans low-level programming and web development to high-level decision theory, enabling both prototype implementations and deployment-ready analytical solutions. Based in Lisbon, he pairs a PhD in Engineering and Management with hands-on advisory roles in municipal procurement and urban planning.
