Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolRichard Innocent is a Lead Software Engineer with a decade of experience building and guiding full-stack teams across cloud-native, Java, and modern JavaScript stacks. He has led T-shaped teams at companies like Adaptavist and Aviva, shipping products for high-availability platforms (ScriptRunner for Jira Data Center) and introducing Typescript-based serverless patterns and in-app notifications. Comfortable diving deep into system internals or steering product direction with PMs and UX, he pairs hands-on coding (React, Groovy, Java, Go, Next.js) with continuous improvement of processes and tooling. He has line-managed and grown engineering teams, built internal forecasting tools in his own time, and driven migrations to microservices and Kubernetes while maintaining rigorous QA and TDD practices. Based in Basingstoke, he combines mechanical engineering training and leadership experience (running a 600‑member student society) with a practical knack for translating complex requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.
