Top SchoolRichard Nicolson is a senior systems developer with over a decade of experience delivering mission-critical software for pensions, SIPP, ISA and insurance clients, currently building new systems at Socket Digital. He combines deep full-lifecycle expertise in n-tier .NET architectures (C#, WCF, Entity Framework) with hands-on skills across front-end web technologies, T-SQL performance tuning and automated CI/CD pipelines. Richard has led major implementations and rebranding efforts for household clients (AVIVA, BNY Mellon, Hornbuckle Mitchell) and prototyped numerous business workflows—Retirement, Death, Transfer Out—into robust administration platforms. Comfortable operating autonomously within change-managed, frozen codebases, he also architects secure, testable release processes and build-server automation. Trained in physics (Warwick) and computer science (Birkbeck), he pairs analytical rigor with pragmatic engineering, and his current GitHub hint—"Building something new @socket-digital"—underscores a focus on fresh product-driven challenges.
