Top SchoolRichard Smedley is a Principal Technical Writer with eight years focused on developer and cloud documentation for Couchbase, specialising in multi-language SDKs from C/C++ to Kotlin and Rust. He turns complex NoSQL, data-science and SDK topics into clear, testable examples and information architecture that treats “every page as page one,” partnering closely with engineers and QE to automate code example validation. A long-time Free & Open Source advocate, Richard combines hands-on developer docs work with program management and training in GNU/Linux, accessibility, and responsive web practices. His background spans fintech, microfinance and complementary currency projects, giving him a rare blend of technical, financial-systems and social-impact insight. Outside the screen he designs edible landscapes and teaches permaculture, a perspective that informs his sustainability-minded approach to Green IT and community tech projects.
