Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolRita Zhang is a Principal Software Engineer with over a decade of experience building and securing cloud-native systems, currently leading engineering at CoreWeave and co-chairing Kubernetes working groups focused on AI conformance and cluster auth. She has deep Azure Core expertise from senior engineering leadership at Microsoft and is a long-time maintainer of Gatekeeper at Open Policy Agent, driving policy and governance for Kubernetes deployments. Rita balances hands-on product work—she founded Brocel Corporation and shipped consumer IoT product GarageDoorBuddy—with high-impact open source stewardship, including service on Kubernetes’ Security Response Committee. Her background spans cloud platform architecture, security, and developer tooling, shaped by an EECS degree from UC Berkeley and early engineering roles at GE and IBM. Colleagues know her for turning complex security and policy requirements into pragmatic, production-ready controls that scale across large clusters. An uncommon blend of founder grit, enterprise delivery, and open-source leadership makes her a go-to engineer for secure, compliant AI/ML infrastructure.
