Summary
🤩
RockstarRizel Scarlett is a Principal Developer Advocate based in Boston with eight years of experience building bridges between engineering teams, open source communities, and product development. She has led developer relations and open source initiatives at Block, goose, and GitHub—championing projects like the open source AI agent codename "goose" and advocating for GitHub Copilot on major stages. Rizel combines hands-on software engineering (Node.js, React, serverless) with program leadership in non-profits and education, having designed curricula and raised funds to expand tech access for young women of color. Known for making powerful technology feel human, she pairs technical depth with storytelling—running workshops, live streams, and community programs that lower barriers to contribution. An advisor and board member experience reflects her knack for scaling learning programs and operationalizing developer-focused strategies.
