Senior🎓
Top SchoolRob Blackbourn is a senior quantitative developer with 12+ years of experience building production-grade software for commodities, fixed income, credit, equity derivatives and FX. Currently at Balyasny Asset Management, he recently led development of a European gas storage solver—designing gas topology metadata, scrapers, visualizations and a micro-service/micro-site stack to turn complex physical networks into usable analytics. A pragmatic technologist, Rob excels at selecting appropriate technology to solve intricate business problems and prefers deep technical specialization over people management. Based in Brighton, he pairs an MSc in Knowledge Based Systems with a long track record across major trading firms, and is motivated by challenging architectures and learning new domains. An unexpected detail: his GitHub bio simply reads "Squawking," hinting at a dry wit behind methodical engineering.
