Rob Dickinson is a staff software engineer and seasoned tech leader with over 10 years of experience building and commercializing high-performance data and security platforms. He founded Resurface Labs and led its seed raise and enterprise trials before engineering and product assets were acquired by Graylog, where he later served as VP of Engineering driving API security, Trino/Iceberg deployments, and early AI tooling for the 7.0 release. Earlier work includes founding Intel’s pmemkv open-source datastore and driving adoption of persistent memory in research and enterprise, plus senior engineering leadership roles at Dell and Quest. Rob combines hands-on systems design with product and go-to-market experience, is a prolific conference presenter, and—less obvious—runs distributed engineering teams by recruiting and mentoring “stranded” remote talent discovered during the pandemic. Based in Boulder, he balances deep technical craft with founder-level business acumen and a penchant for entertaining audiences as an enthusiastic (if bad) drummer.
