Senior🎓
Top SchoolRob Pickering is a veteran technologist and founder with four decades of commercial experience and 11 years focused on building and advising software businesses, most recently running consultancy aplisay and serving on Alertacall’s advisory board. He founded and scaled IPCortex from an overdraft-funded idea to a profitable telecoms software vendor and smooth exit, combining hands-on engineering instincts with operational leadership. A full-stack hacker comfortable in JavaScript, C and C++, he has deep expertise in real-time media, networking and high-availability architectures dating back to pioneering TCP/IP work at INMOS. Rob thrives on turning complex systems into practical products that improve how institutions operate, and he brings a rare blend of bootstrapped startup grit, Fortune-500 programme management, and ongoing advisory and angel activity. An unexpected through-line in his career is a persistent focus on microkernel-style, composable system thinking that still informs his product and architecture choices today.
