Top SchoolRob Steilberg is a Senior Server Developer and Certified Flight Instructor based in Austin, Texas, who blends nine years of full-stack engineering experience with hands-on aviation expertise. At ForeFlight/Jeppesen ForeFlight he designs scalable backend systems—like the real-time Reported Turbulence pipeline and Weather Cameras caching—and has led zero-downtime migrations and major API/Postgres work that preserved compatibility for legacy clients. He teaches and flies regularly, providing FAA-certified instruction and specializing in Piper Cherokees and Beechcraft Bonanzas, which makes him a frequent real-world user of the products he helps build. A Duke Computer Science alum with a track record at Esri and field deployments (including an Android immunization app for Clinica Esperanza), he brings a rare operator-developer perspective that shortens feedback loops between pilots and software.
