Top SchoolRob Zuazua is a software engineering manager with 11 years of experience building and scaling core platform services at Smartsheet, where he led projects that dramatically improved latency and operational health for millions of users. A two-time founder of AI startups (aicaptions.co and bettercodeai.com), he blends hands-on backend and DevOps expertise (Java, AWS) with product and go-to-market experience, currently focusing on scaling aicaptions.co. His engineering wins include designing a new high-throughput service for critical sheet data, slashing save P50 by 462%, and eliminating a long-standing networking race condition that cut customer escalations. Comfortable across startups, research, and enterprise, he has built AI research collaborations, delivered government-facing chatbots, and raised seed funding for an education platform, reflecting both technical depth and entrepreneurial drive. Based in the Greater Seattle Area, he’s actively hiring software engineers and enjoys turning complex reliability problems into measurable business impact.
