Top SchoolRobert Geislinger is a Hamburg-based computer scientist with 11 years of hands-on experience bridging applied research and systems engineering, currently working as a wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at Universität Hamburg and HCDS. With an M.Sc. in Computer Science and a background as an IT-Systemkaufmann, he blends academic rigor with practical ops experience, frequently shipping tooling that “blinks” — small, reliable systems and live-subtitle projects like subtitle2go and bbb-live-subtitles. He’s comfortable across research projects and production support roles, having transitioned from long-term IT technician/service roles into research-focused software development. Colleagues would describe him as pragmatic, detail-oriented, and drawn to projects where hardware, real-time feedback, or accessibility intersect with software.
