Top SchoolRobert Guggenberger is an interdisciplinary engineer and researcher with nine years of experience developing medical devices and embedded real-time signal processing software, currently blending clinical practice in ophthalmology with R&D at neuroCare Group. He holds dual doctorates (Dr.rer.nat. in neuroscience and Dr.rer.soc. in social sciences) and an MEng in Software Engineering, enabling him to translate complex neurotechnology research into robust, regulated products. At the University Hospital of Tübingen he led multiple BMBF-funded projects on adaptive brain stimulation and neuro-orthotics, combining custom electronics, clinical validation, and industry collaboration. Pragmatic and hands-on, he codes embedded systems for safety-critical devices while managing clinical operations in an ophthalmology practice. Outside work he pursues rock climbing and applies research software practices to reproducible neurofeedback and brain stimulation tools. His uncommon blend of clinical management, deep neuroscience training, and production-grade software engineering positions him to bridge laboratory innovation and commercial medical devices.
