Top SchoolRobert Lowe is an academic software engineer and assistant professor with 11 years of professional experience teaching and building production systems across academia and industry. He combines deep language fluency—from C/C++ and Python to C#, Java, PHP and legacy/obscure languages—with hands-on systems work such as embedded routing/virtualization projects and large-scale web back ends. His career spans tenure-track and adjunct roles designing curricula for game and simulation development as well as practical software projects like an agronomics ASP.NET application and the irongate router/mail gateway. Comfortable moving between research, teaching, and production coding, he has led teams and developed mission-critical tools for e-filing, title search, and data mining. Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, he holds an MS and PhD in Computer Science and is known for bridging esoteric programming knowledge with pragmatic system design.
