Top SchoolRobert Mcelhinney is a Systems Engineer based in London with 10 years of software and infrastructure experience and 5+ years focused on observability and platform reliability at Qualtrics. He designs and ships practical monitoring, logging, and alerting improvements—reducing metric cardinality, migrating log providers, and upgrading alerting architectures—to speed incident detection and improve system resilience. Comfortable across the stack, he has hands-on experience with Prometheus/Thanos, Grafana, Splunk/SumoLogic, Fluentd, Sensu, Docker, Python and Java, and has automated internal testing with Selenium. Early roles building storage controller firmware and React-based management UIs give him a disciplined systems mindset and an appreciation for high-availability design. He pairs engineering rigor with a teacher’s patience (experience as an ESL teacher) and a continual drive to sharpen coding skills.
