Top SchoolRobert Rico is a Lead Engineer with 11 years of hands-on experience modernizing legacy systems and rescuing stalled projects across healthcare, finance, and print industries. He combines full-stack fluency—API design, cloud infrastructure, databases, and frontend frameworks—with a knack for turning abandoned codebases into HIPAA-compliant, production-ready platforms. As a freelance technical rescue specialist he rebuilt an EHR platform serving multiple hospitals and migrated decade-old mortgage and print systems to modern architectures. He has led teams to adopt safer development workflows, introduced AWS and MongoDB solutions early in companies, and consistently delivers under tight deadlines. Based in Port Townsend, WA, he pairs practical engineering leadership with deep problem-solving curiosity cultivated since his CS degree at California State University–Sacramento. Unobvious strength: he repeatedly wins repeat engagements by fixing projects others deemed unsalvageable, blending rapid triage with lasting architectural improvements.
