Top SchoolRobert Scherf is a pragmatic engineering leader and Chief of Staff with 11 years of experience aligning developer platforms, tooling, and org strategy to accelerate delivery. He blends hands-on technical work—building automated deployment pipelines, real-time technical debt tracking, and LLM-driven estimation tools that delivered six-figure savings—with people-focused programs like engineering career frameworks and equity-focused hiring. Comfortable across roles from senior developer and architect to program manager and policy advisor, he routinely ties platform KPIs to measurable financial and operational outcomes. A PhD-trained computer scientist and hobbyist programming-language designer, he created RuleScript to empower non-programmers to automate tedious work, reflecting a rare mix of research depth and product pragmatism. Based in Victoria, BC, he’s known for driving cross-functional integrations and cost-saving platform migrations while coaching leaders to improve team performance.
