Senior🎓
Top SchoolRobin Mallett is a senior software engineer based in Cambridge with 7 years of commercial experience building test and measurement, machine control and hardware-interfacing software across C#, C/C++, LabVIEW and PLC platforms. He has a strong track record in digital printing systems, real-time control for racing simulators and production machinery, and developing test and calibration software for oscilloscopes and data loggers. Comfortable from low-level device drivers and EtherCAT motion control to user-facing HMIs (WPF, Windows Forms) and vision inspection systems, he also led process improvements like migrating teams to Azure DevOps. His EngD in signal processing underpins a pragmatic approach to embedded and image-processing challenges, bringing research-grade noise reduction and analysis techniques to industrial problems. At Tonejet he progressed from senior engineer to engineering manager, combining hands-on development with recruitment and customer-facing support. An unlikely but valuable facet: his GitHub bio notes sea-ice science work, reflecting interdisciplinary curiosity and experience with Earth observation data.
