Top SchoolRomain Bazile is an experienced engineer and expedition leader with 13 years blending hardware R&D, environmental engineering and hands-on field work from Toulouse to the open ocean. As a freelance télépilote de drone he conducts technical inspections, topographic surveys and photogrammetric mapping, while leading Ocean Trotter expeditions that combine NGO setup, fundraising and long-term circumnavigation research. He helped design low-cost scientific hardware at Plankton Planet (PlanktoScope) and has a background in energy and fluidics from award-winning Solar Decathlon work and industry R&D. Comfortable shifting between lab, classroom and deck, he also trains sailors and taught automatic systems at university level. Romain’s profile is unusual in that he couples rigorous engineering and cost-optimizing electronics design with storytelling and public outreach about the hidden life beneath the waves. He is actively seeking partners and patrons to scale oceanographic exploration and applied drone surveying.
