Senior🎓
Top SchoolRoman Glaznev is a researcher with a decade of experience in experimental combustion science, currently studying ammonia/air flames at high pressures and temperatures at RWTH Aachen University. He combines advanced optical diagnostics (Schlieren, PIV) with microgravity experiments to isolate buoyancy and radiative effects on flame propagation. Previously he investigated how flame retardants alter thermal and chemical flame structure over polymers using mass spectrometry, TGA, micro-thermocouples and genetic-algorithm-driven data optimization. His work has produced multiple peer-reviewed papers including a first-author article in Combustion and Flame and prize-winning conference presentations. With a strong physics foundation from Novosibirsk State University (top grades) he brings rigorous experimental design and quantitative data analysis to complex fire-safety problems. Colleagues value his ability to translate detailed lab measurements into mechanistic insights that inform material safety and combustion modeling.
