Top SchoolRoman Melnyk is a Linux System Engineer with 11 years of experience building and optimizing service-provider and high-load web infrastructures across Ukraine. He specializes in VPN solutions (OpenVPN, IKEv2, Hysteria2), Linux networking tuning, and core routing protocols like BGP/OSPF/MPLS, paired with infrastructure automation using Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD. Roman has hands-on experience with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), high-throughput data tools (Kafka, ClickHouse) and has implemented BRAS/BNG and billing migrations in ISP environments. At MacPaw and prior roles he improved VPN performance through kernel-network stack tuning and automated deployments, reducing operational friction. He combines deep low-level networking knowledge with pragmatic scripting (Python, Bash) and cloud DNS/infra work, making him effective at troubleshooting complex, high-scale systems.
