Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolRon Korving is a senior software engineer and engineering leader with 14 years of hands-on experience building scalable web and backend systems, currently leading engineering at Moneytree in Tokyo. He brings deep polyglot expertise—Node.js/TypeScript, Python, C/C++, Ruby, PHP—and production experience across numerous databases from DynamoDB and Couchbase to Apache Iceberg. Ron has a strong background in real-time and mobile web platforms (including WebGL) from his VP role in game engineering and earlier embedded/enterprise systems work for rail and government clients. An Open Source and AWS advocate, he pairs pragmatic system design with curiosity about emerging languages like Rust, Go, Swift and Mojo. Notably, his career spans both product-led startups and mission-critical deployments (camera surveillance, financial systems), demonstrating an ability to ship reliable systems at scale. Based in Chiyoda, Japan, he blends technical depth with people leadership, having transitioned from senior engineer to engineering manager while remaining an active individual contributor.
