Top SchoolRon Record is a Principal Architect Software Engineer with decades of hands-on experience building, porting, and maintaining UNIX/Linux distributions from the Intel 8086 era through modern cloud-native infrastructures. He blends deep systems-and-security expertise (former SCO Chief Security Officer and long-time open source maintainer) with contemporary automation skills in Kubernetes, Proxmox, VMware, and infrastructure-as-code. Ron has led virtualization and cloud management efforts at VMware and currently designs automated datacenter infrastructure, while his background in nonlinear dynamical systems (Ph.D. in Mathematics) informs a rigorous, systems-theoretic approach to engineering. Notable behind-the-scenes contributions include leading SCO Skunkware, co-inventing the Webtop, and porting a wide array of open-source stacks to commercial UNIX platforms.
