RockstarRui Wang is a Machine Learning Engineer with 8 years of experience building production ML systems for real-time consumer targeting and incentives at scale, currently applying causal inference, uplift modeling, and foundation-model techniques at Uber. He previously delivered large-scale recommendation and ads relevance systems at LinkedIn, including two-tower targeting, embedding ANN search, and in-session BERT entity recommendation. Rui combines a strong academic foundation—a PhD in Physics and an MS in Biostatistics—with hands-on experience in sequence transformers, merchant ranking, and budget personalization to bridge rigorous statistical modeling and engineering for live marketplaces. Based in Sunnyvale, he brings a rare blend of physics-trained quantitative rigor and practical ML productization, with background in healthcare and nanotech research that informs his multidisciplinary approach.
