Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolRyan Mandelbaum is Editor in Chief for IBM Quantum with a decade of experience translating complex physics and quantum computing research into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences. He progressed from technical writer and senior editor roles at IBM to lead global editorial strategy for IBM Quantum and Qiskit, shaping blogs, video scripts, website copy, and bylines to ensure accuracy and trust. With a background in physics and mathematics from Columbia and a master’s in science reporting from NYU, he blends rigorous technical understanding (including hands-on contributions to the Qiskit Textbook) with newsroom-honed storytelling. His career also spans science journalism and hands-on research at CERN and national labs, a mix that helps him spot compelling narratives and common misconceptions in emerging science. Not obviously, he’s been both a stage performer at the Metropolitan Opera and an author of educational notebook edits that improve how linear algebra and tensor products are taught to quantum learners.
