Ryan McDonald
Boulder, Colorado, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorRyan Mcdonald is a resilient incident management and customer-facing engineering leader with 12 years of experience helping organizations improve reliability, reduce churn, and learn from failures. He has led incident response programs at scale—serving as Senior Incident Commander at Twilio and Senior Escalation Manager at Braze—then translated that operational experience into customer success and advocacy roles at FireHydrant. Ryan blends hands-on engineering and project management roots (Ruby on Rails, startup dev work) with coaching and people leadership, now guiding youth programs as Head Guide and Lead Coach while co‑founding an outdoor apparel venture. He’s skilled at bridging product, engineering, and customers to turn outages into documented improvements and repeatable processes. Based in Boulder, he pairs a BA in Adventure Education with a pragmatic, field-tested approach to resilience that emphasizes learning culture as much as tooling. That combination of outdoor leadership and technical incident craft makes him unusually effective at coaching teams through high-pressure situations.
