Top SchoolRyan Prendergast is a founder and software engineer with nine years of experience building startups and developer-facing products from idea to production. Based in New York, he led engineering at Bubble's core editor team and founded Alpha Research to create open-source, agentic knowledge bases aimed at democratizing humanity's knowledge. His track record includes co-founding hardware and payments startups—an affordable eye-tracking wearable for users with limited motor function and payments software for luxury retailers—demonstrating a mix of product, hardware, and infrastructure expertise. He has applied functional programming at scale (Haskell work on vehicle communications during a Tesla internship) and shipped tooling that supports rapid startup formation (Dolphin, a “startup in a box”). A Y Combinator alumnus and University of Illinois CS graduate, he blends academic rigor with hands-on startup execution and a focus on accessibility and open knowledge as guiding themes.
