Senior🎓
Top SchoolRyan Santo is an experienced fisheries and river restoration leader with over 14 years working across state, federal, and tribal agencies in the Snake and Columbia River basins. As River Program Director at Wood River Land Trust he has led large-scale, multi-stakeholder restoration projects, managed major grants, and developed basin-wide protocols and statistical standards for salmonid monitoring. His background blends hands-on field expertise—from rotary screw traps and PIT tagging to snorkel and spawning surveys—with data stewardship and centralized data system implementation for regional assessment efforts. Ryan’s work uniquely pairs technical population metrics (R, statistical programs, survival estimators) with community-facing outreach and education programs like Trout Friendly, yielding measurable habitat improvements in the Big Wood River basin. Based in Hailey, Idaho, he combines practical hatchery and field operations experience with strategic program development that coordinates NGOs, irrigators, and agencies.
