Top SchoolRyan Walls is a Director of Cloud Infrastructure with 13 years of experience building reliable, developer-centric cloud platforms for companies like SoFi and Square. He blends hands-on engineering (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, CI/CD, microservices) with team building and a strong emphasis on continuous delivery and observability. Known for introducing immutable infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code practices, he has repeatedly turned complex distributed systems into monitored, automated pipelines. His background includes scaling SaaS products through acquisitions (3DSIM → ANSYS) and driving performance improvements that cut API tail latencies by orders of magnitude. A former teacher turned engineering leader, he brings clarity to complex problems and a passion for mentoring engineers across the full SDLC. Outside work he stays active in mountain biking and skiing, reflecting the same iterative learning mindset he applies to cloud platform evolution.
