Top SchoolSage Sharp is a seasoned software leader and CEO with 26 years of experience building backend systems, Linux drivers, and remote open-source programs. They led Outreachy as program manager—scaling the internship program from 65 to 130 interns and stewarding a $1M annual budget—while also implementing the Django-based Outreachy website and Python data tooling. As founder of Otter Tech, Sage provides Code of Conduct training and inclusive community consulting, combining technical depth with community governance expertise. Their engineering roots include architecting Linux USB and Intel graphics drivers, contributing hundreds of kernel patches and upstreaming critical drivers. Comfortable as a hands-on Python/Django backend developer or project lead, they favor fully remote work and have a demonstrated track record mentoring newcomers into productive open-source contributors. An unexpected strength is translating low-level kernel experience into reliable web-scale processes and privacy-aware, permissions-based systems.
