Summary
Sajad Mohammadi is a research and development engineer and PhD candidate in bioengineering based in Zurich, with a decade of experience at the intersection of biomaterials, microbiology, and microfluidics. He began his translational biofabrication journey at IIT and Sapienza, where he helped build a custom microfluidic 3D bioprinting system for hierarchical tissues, and now focuses on antimicrobial peptide–loaded materials to prevent implant-associated biofilms while minimizing immune rejection. Currently contributing to academic and industry projects at Erasmus MC, Stop Spread Bad Bugs, and Hylomorph, he blends hands-on device development with immuno-informed materials design. Colleagues describe him as a collaborator who bridges lab-scale innovation and clinical applicability, and he actively seeks interdisciplinary partnerships to move infection-resistant biomaterials from bench to bedside.
