Top SchoolSam Christy is a Staff Software Engineer in London with 14 years delivering full-stack systems and platform architecture across retail, e-learning and consumer marketplaces. Currently leading a 10-engineer platform team at Marks & Spencer, he has shipped novel React/TypeScript and Node.js products as a tech lead and is driving M&S’s GraphQL strategy. He brings deep practical experience introducing GraphQL (including DataLoader and federation patterns), building BFFs and resilient messaging services, and radically improving query performance and search conversion. Sam pairs hands-on coding with security-minded engineering—having patched critical vulnerabilities and implemented mitigations for message-evasion attacks—and has a track record of automating operational flows and scaling CI/CD and IaC on AWS. Notably, he consistently moves between product-focused feature delivery and low-level performance/security improvements, making him effective across strategy and execution.
