Top SchoolSam Lyu is a software engineer with 10 years of experience, currently leading engineering efforts in Meta’s Llama research data foundation and privacy infrastructure for Family Center. He brings a pragmatic full-stack skill set (Python, Node.js, C++) and a track record of owning end-to-end projects from design through maintenance, mentoring junior engineers along the way. Prior roles include delivering standalone, production-ready systems at Stratifyd and fast-paced audit work early in his career, reflecting strong product and process sensibilities. His academic background spans finance and business analytics, which informs a data-driven approach to engineering decisions and stakeholder communication. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sam blends research-adjacent LLM data work with practical infra delivery, making him effective at translating experimental models into maintainable pipelines. A detail that stands out: he moved from finance-focused studies into hands-on ML data engineering, showing adaptability and a cross-disciplinary perspective.
