Senior🎓
Top SchoolSam Serpoosh is an experienced software engineer with 13 years building large-scale, real-time and recommendation systems across Applied Intuition, Facebook, Uber and Groupon. He combines deep distributed-systems and ML engineering expertise—authoring streaming OLAP, ETL and model-evaluation pipelines—with fluency in many languages (Scala, Java, Python, Go, Haskell and more) and tooling across Kafka, Flink, Spark, Hive and Elasticsearch. At Facebook he worked on a reusable recommendation delivery stack spanning retrieval, ranking and diversification, and at Uber he built core OLAP and ETD services that power real-time marketplace decisions. A polyglot and systems thinker, he’s equally drawn to programming language design, type systems and UNIX culture, and he documents his ongoing explorations on his personal site. Based in San Francisco, he pairs practical production experience with a research-minded curiosity cultivated through grad work and cross-disciplinary projects.
