Top SchoolSammy Fung is a Hong Kong–based open-source advocate and technology leader with 13 years of professional experience and two decades of involvement in Linux and community projects. As President of Open Source Hong Kong and founder of Open Platform Society, he organizes PyCon HK, open-source hackathons and conferences that grow developer ecosystems and influence open data and governance conversations. He combines hands-on engineering—building full-stack web apps, subscription systems, and OpenStack-based cloud services—with strategic consulting for multinational clients. A former CTO and technical director who has led teams of developers and delivered production infrastructure, he is equally at home in code, systems design, and community-building. Recognized as a PSF fellow and long-standing open advocate, he quietly amplifies local tech talent by creating platforms and events that connect practitioners, policymakers, and educators.
