Top SchoolSamuel Huskey is a professor of Classics with over two decades of teaching and leadership experience who now directs the Digital Latin project at the University of Oklahoma, where he blends classical philology with digital scholarship and AI-informed methods. He teaches Latin and Greek, publishes on classical literature—especially Ovid’s exile poetry—and has a record of academic administration from chairing a sixteen-member department to mentoring undergraduates. As director and co-PI of the Mellon-funded Digital Latin Library, he builds digital infrastructures that make Latin texts and scholarship more accessible and machine-actionable. Based in Norman, Oklahoma, he combines deep philological training (PhD, University of Iowa) with practical project management and scholarly editing skills developed since the 1990s.
