Senior🎓
Top SchoolSantiago Casas is a theoretical and numerical cosmologist with 14 years of experience specializing in precision cosmology, large-scale structure and dark energy, and nearly a decade of contributions to the ESA Euclid Consortium. He develops high-performance forecasting and likelihood pipelines, applies machine learning and emulator techniques to accelerate nonlinear predictions, and maintains widely used open-source tools such as JAX-Cosmo and extensions for CLASS, Cobaya and MontePython. Recently transitioning into ontologies and scientific metadata at the German Aerospace Center, he brings a rare combination of deep theoretical modeling, production-ready code, and metadata-driven reproducibility. Santiago mentors early-career researchers, coordinates cross-survey collaborations (including SKAO), and focuses on testable probes of modified gravity and neutrino mass. A summa cum laude PhD from Heidelberg, he pairs rigorous academic training with hands-on software engineering to maximize the scientific return of Stage-IV surveys.
