Sappinandana Akamphon is an Associate Professor based in Bangkok with over a decade of experience bridging mechanical engineering research and teaching, specializing in cost-benefit analysis, process-based cost modeling, manufacturing system analysis, and renewable energy technologies. He holds an MS and PhD from MIT and began his career modeling production and cost-learning curves there, later advancing to postdoctoral work on resin injection molding feasibility. At Thammasat and now Khon Kaen University he has taught core engineering courses while leading research on energy conservation, solar energy modeling, and feasibility of alternative energy systems. His work uniquely combines rigorous manufacturing cost modeling with practical evaluations of renewable energy adoption, enabling data-driven decisions for technology deployment.
