Sarah Quelen is a bioinformatics and genomics researcher with 11+ years of experience bridging computational biology and functional genome annotation, holding a PhD and HDR. She contributed to large international consortia including ENCODE and mouse ENCODE during a formative postdoc at the Centre for Genomic Regulation and later led functional annotation projects for livestock at INRAE. Now at INSERM in Toulouse, her research focuses on mapping enhancer–gene relationships to illuminate genotype–phenotype links in human disease. Initially trained as a computer scientist, she combines algorithmic gene-finding expertise with hands-on regulatory genomics, routinely integrating transcriptomics and epigenomic data. Colleagues know her for turning complex multi-omics datasets into actionable annotations that feed both basic research and translational studies.
