Sark Xing is a PhD candidate in Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University specializing in the materiality of interaction for personal healthcare and everyday activities, blending hands-on prototyping with user-centered evaluation. With a decade of experience across industrial and product design, he approaches problems through material-centered experiments and in-situ evaluations to rapidly iterate concepts and build design knowledge. His research-through-design work includes a summer placement at NTU IoX Center where he developed a taxonomy of seamless peripheral interfaces based on cognitive load and attentional demands. Comfortable coding as well as crafting physical prototypes, Sark bridges interaction design and implementation to explore how material form shapes everyday health behaviors. Based in Kowloon, Hong Kong, he brings an international design education from Eindhoven and Beijing Normal to inform culturally aware, context-sensitive solutions. Colleagues value his pragmatic curiosity and ability to translate ambiguous contexts into testable design artefacts.
