Top SchoolScott Hraban is a Principal Java backend engineer with over 20 years in software engineering and 11 years focused on cloud-native collaboration platforms at Cisco, currently leading architecture for Webex Meetings. He designs and implements large-scale, highly available distributed systems—enabling multi-datacenter meeting continuity, hybrid meeting control across SIP and API endpoints, and continuous refactors to modernize backend stacks. Comfortable across the full server-side stack, he repeatedly drives migrations (MySQL→Postgres), frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines using Java, Spring, Docker, Jenkins, Cassandra, and observability tooling like Grafana and Splunk. A pragmatic technical leader, he’s known for converting complex operational needs into automated, production-ready solutions and for lifting team velocity through process and tooling improvements. Consistently rated in the top decile among peers, he combines deep systems design with hands-on delivery and a knack for quietly simplifying messy integrations across products. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with a BS in Computer Science from Stanford, he brings enterprise-grade reliability thinking to real-time collaboration services.
