Top SchoolScott Smethurst is a seasoned CTO and serverless specialist with 12 years of hands-on experience designing and operating event-driven, cloud-native systems that scale from startups to global enterprises. He has led transformative projects—launching the UK's first eSIM-only mobile network, building multi-tenant eSIM orchestration, and helping LifeWorks pivot and scale post-acquisition—while remaining deeply technical and often the largest code contributor. Comfortable across software architecture, DevOps, and AI-infused features, Scott has a track record of turning legacy monoliths into resilient microservices, geo-partitioning data for compliance, and shipping recommendation engines that measurably boost user growth. Based in London and trained at the University of Manchester, he blends entrepreneurial drive with pragmatic engineering and a penchant for using serverless patterns to accelerate delivery and reduce operational burden.
