Top SchoolScott Woods is a founder and CEO with 22 years of experience building mission-driven companies that blend software engineering, high-performance computing, security, and DevOps with progressive workplace design. He leads West Arete, a two-decade engine for socially beneficial software and radical people investment—paid family healthcare, sabbaticals, and coaching—that he credits for sustained high-impact delivery across 40+ projects. Co-founder of the Living Wage Institute, Scott translates public-good data and open transparency into practical products that improve employer and worker outcomes. His background in academic HPC infrastructure at Penn State informs a pragmatic, research-informed approach to systems and automation. Notably, he deliberately treats organizations as experimental vehicles for societal change, now sharing those patterns through new ventures like Positron.
