Summary
👤
SeniorScotty Mcmillin is a seasoned developer and designer with over two decades of experience building web and mobile products from concept to launch, including co-founding Hopscotch Media, ShopLocal, and Timelines. He specializes as a soup-to-nuts startup generalist—leading product strategy, user-centered design, information architecture, visual identity, front-end and back-end development, and deployment. His work includes consumer-facing products like SalesHound.com and Photogram (300,000+ downloads) and newsroom-facing tools like Timelines SE, used by major newspapers and recognized as a Chicago Innovation Awards finalist. As an independent contractor and long-term self-employed practitioner based in Chicago, he’s delivered solutions for brands from Kraft to Dow Chemical. Mostly focused on iOS in recent years, he blends creative design sensibilities with pragmatic engineering to quickly validate and ship products. His uncommon combination of English/humanities training and deep technical breadth makes him especially effective at turning stories and user needs into elegant digital experiences.
