Sean Chester is an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Victoria specializing in high-performance data management for GPUs and NUMA multi-socket CPUs, with a decade of experience bridging academic research and open-source systems. His work appears in top database venues (PVLDB, SIGMOD, ICDE) and much of his C++ research code is openly released under the Unlicense on GitHub, enabling reproducible experimentation. A former Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at NTNU and postdoc at Aarhus, he led research on GPU-coupled indexing and skyline queries within European Horizon2020 projects. He combines rigorous theory with hands-on engineering for scalable analytics, and makes all recent manuscripts available as green open-access preprints.
