Sean Patrick Floyd
Summary
👤
SeniorSean Floyd is a lead security engineer and hands-on architect with 25+ years of experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems across e-commerce and cloud platforms. He has driven critical technical transformations at companies like Zalando and Amazon—scaling services through IPO and architecting global programs such as Sold by Amazon—while more recently building secure platform features at Domino Data Lab and Salesforce. Sean blends deep JVM expertise (Java, Scala, Kotlin) with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm) and practical identity/security work (Keycloak, OIDC/SAML, FIPS-compliant TLS). He’s as comfortable defining technical direction for 80+ developer organizations as he is shipping type-safe config validation, IAM frameworks, and real-time full-stack components. Based in the Greater Seattle Area, he favors modern tooling and AI-driven developer tools to increase velocity and quality, and brings a pragmatic focus on business impact alongside technical rigor. Notably, his career path includes significant cross-functional coordination between dev, data science, and product teams to turn complex, ambiguous problems into production systems.
