Top SchoolSebastian Pereyro is a founder-stage CTO and entrepreneur with 14 years of experience building product-focused engineering teams and shipping web, mobile, and cloud-native systems. As Co-CEO/CTO of Empirical he partners with companies to deliver product leadership and staff-augmented engineering, drawing on prior CTO and senior engineering roles at startups and enterprises including Motorola/Google and Disney. He has deep full-stack experience across Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, mobile (iOS/Android/Unity), and cloud platforms, and a track record of turning domain problems—construction, telemedicine, sports performance—into production-ready platforms. Sebastian blends hands-on coding and architecture with company-building instincts, having co-founded multiple startups and led engineering during an acquisition. Trained in software architecture at Carnegie Mellon and rooted in systems engineering from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, he favors pragmatic, high-efficiency processes that accelerate product delivery. Based in San Diego, he is as comfortable scaling teams and processes as he is diving into technical debt and shipping the next product iteration.
